The Wonder of Science - Indigenous Science Leader Program

23 November 2017

The Wonder of Science - Indigenous Science Leader Program is being offered through a partnership between The University of Queensland (UQ) and the National Indigenous Science Education Program (NISEP).

The Indigenous Science Leaders will help to facilitate the NISEP activities in selected secondary schools.

NISEP uses science to place Indigenous youth (year 9-10 students) in leadership positions so they gain the confidence, motivation and skills to stay in school and consider pathways to higher education.

The Indigenous Science Leaders will be identified through The University of Queensland's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies Unit and is aimed at students enrolled in STEM undergraduate programs. The ISLs will be mentored by the Young Science Ambassadors from Wonder of Science.

The Young Science Ambassadors are passionate STEM role models supporting implementation of Wonder of Science in schools across Queensland. More information on the program is available at wonderofscience.com.au
