InspireU Junior STEM

Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) touches every aspect of our lives from smartphones to the technologies that send us into outer space.

With STEM driving innovation and the global economy – plus a significant Australian Government push to increase STEM awareness and employment – it was important for us to create an opportunity for students to learn about areas of specialisation. The Junior STEM Camp is designed to pique the interest of junior students in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics as well as provide practical insight into these disciplines.

Student participants take part in a number of activities during the week that are both informative and interactive, some of which include biological workshops, 3D printing workshops, physics and maths workshops as well as investigating fields such as paleontology, bioengineering, nanotechnology, plant science, molecular bioscience and many more.

Cost and travel

The reasonable cost associated with attendance at the camp, including board, meals and program activities plus transportation to and from UQ St Lucia campus where required, will be met by UQ. Participants may wish to bring a small amount of spending money.

Who is eligible?

To be eligible to participate in InspireU Junior STEM Engineering, students must:
